The following comes from IGN.com:In 2004 EA Sports shocked the world of videogames by announcing a deal
with the National Football League that gave them the exclusive rights
to publish games under the NFL brand. Gamers everywhere cried foul over
the agreement that essentially took one of our most beloved football
franchises, NFL 2K, out of the yearly grudge match. The original deal
was signed through 2009 but today EA Sports announced that it's
completed negotiations with the NFL and NFLPA (NFL Players'
Association) to extend the exclusive license through the 2012 season.

Here are my thoughts on Madden 08. At first, after the first game I was a little skeptical of what EA Sports did with the new Madden and how well they did it. The gameplay is a lot different. It's more realistic with the exception that there are way too many fumbles in the game, but I have yet to check to see if the settings on that can be altered. You can no longer take 10-step drop-backs and make a completion, if you try to drop back a ridiculous amount, you will be sacked; it's essential to stay in the pocket. The gang tackles are a huge boost to the game and the tackling in general seems to be on par with the exception of when there are too many guys around and it seems a little ridiculous. My other complaint would be that there are too many injuries, but, again, I'm sure that can be changed in the settings. The commentary could definitely use a boost, but the sound effects in general are pretty amazing. Overall, I would say EA delivered what it promised, but a few things needs to be changed - notably injuries and fumbles.
