EA Sports is developing NBA Jam. The project is expected to be ready for a fall debut. The game looks amazing. Here is a video preview:

Gamespot wrote an article on how the new features to NBA Live 08, like ball handling and post match-ups, gives the game a more realistic feel.  They also released some new screenshots which you can view here.

EA Sports has added shooter hot spots to the NBA Live 08 edition.  This means the game will take into consideration the shooters strengths and weaknesses from various areas of the court.  In the example below, it's displaying Bruce Bowen's hot spots.  Bruce Bowen is clutch from baseline, while the yellow area is the moderate area, and the blue area is where the shooter is cold from.  You can activate the hot spots by pressing LB.  You can check out the video on the NBA Live Hot Spots here.

EA Sports has decided to add "Go to Moves" to the NBA Live 08 edition.  Now, instead of just standard jump shots for all players, the game will incorporate players signature moves when that player is in a must score situation.  These "go to moves" include Kobe's turn-around jumper, Dirk Nowitzki's fade-away jumper, and Dwayne Wade's side-step jumper.  Here is a video which demonstrates these moves in the game.

Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas has been chosen as the cover athlete for EA Sports NBA Live 08 according to the Washington Times. When I first got NBA Live 07 for X-Box 360 I was expecting something much better, the PS2 version of NBA Live 06 had me hooked and when I switched over to 360 the gameplay was different, but I still thought it was solid.  They had to rush last years version so I thought this years version would be even better, but I was disappointed.  Don't get me wrong, it's a very fun game, but I just had higher expectations.
